Loans for people with bad credit history

Things that give you bad credit are, not paying loans, being late on loans and other bills, multiple checks of your credit report from potential lenders, and a few other things.  There are also reasons besides having bad credit that it may be hard for people to get loans also.  Having a bad debt to income ratio is also harmful when someone is thinking about lending to you.

With the economy the way it is now there are more options to get loans when you have bad credit.  There are two types of loans that will help you build your credit back up.  Those two loans are secured and unsecured loans.  There is a difference between these two kinds of loans and we will define both types.

Secured Loans are loans are easier to get because you need collateral when getting a secured loan.  This means that you put up something of value against the loan, like a car, or motorcycle.  Something of monitary value, depending on what the collateral is worth is how much you will be able to borrow.  The good thing about a secured loan is that when you use collateral your bad credit doesn't matter anymore.  This is good because the bank might offer you a lower interest rate then if you had gotten a unsecured loan.  They may also offer you a longer repayment time which will make your payments lower.

Unsecured Loans are loans you get with no collateral, and are much harder to get because they are a much higher risk for the lender then the secured loans.  They aren't impossible to get though, alot of places are making it easier to get a loan due to the economic times as of late.  The only thing about getting a unsecured loan with bad credit is your interest rate is going to be alot higher then someone who hasn't.  But even as high as the interest rate will be it is a great opportunity to raise your credit.  You just have to make the right decision and make sure you don't do what made your credit bad in the first place.  Make sure you do not borrow more then you will be able to pay back.

There are just as many things to help raise your credit as there is to hurt it.  You can go to a credit counsellor and they can help get your bills in check and help you get everything current with your lenders.  You can also go to a credit attorney and have them contact your lenders from the past and see if they will take their marks off your credit report.  That will also raise your credit.  Another thing is contact the lenders yourself, most of the time they will work with you because they want their money.  Just don't give up because creating bad credit will stick with you for a long time, and when you want that new house, or a new car you will be reminded of when you let your credit slip in the first place.
